Privacy Policy for Lazulite
Thank you for choosing Lazulite. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to safeguarding your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect, how we use it, and the measures we take to protect your data when you use our Android application available on the Google Play Store.
Website Analytics:
When you visit lazulite.app, we collect anonymized analytics about page visits and interactions with download links, setup resources, FAQ answers, and contact links. This analytics applies only to the website and is separate from the optional telemetry collected by the Android app. We do not use cookies or identify individual visitors. Analytics data is processed on servers in the European Union and retained only for as long as necessary to improve the site and its support content, and to meet applicable legal obligations, in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Android App Diagnostics:
Crash diagnostics are optional and disabled by default. If you choose to enable Crash diagnostics during onboarding or in Settings, Lazulite may send crash reports and technical diagnostic logs to Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service. These reports can include technical information about the app, device, operating system, and events leading to a problem. We do not describe them as anonymous because technical information can sometimes be identifying when combined with other information.
Crashlytics may retain reports locally while diagnostics are disabled. If you later enable Crash diagnostics, locally stored reports may upload to Firebase Crashlytics. Turning the setting off stops Lazulite from sending diagnostic breadcrumbs immediately and disables Crashlytics collection for future app runs; it does not delete reports already held by Firebase.
-
System Logs: Users have the option to send us system logs to assist in resolving technical issues. While these logs can provide valuable information for troubleshooting, they may also contain sensitive information about the user’s device. Sending system logs is entirely voluntary.
-
Destination Device Vendor Lookup: If you turn on the optional “Look up destination vendor” setting, Lazulite sends the first three pairs of your connected Bluetooth device’s MAC address to MACLookup to identify its vendor. This setting is off by default, and no other part of the address is ever sent.
How We Use Your Information:
- Troubleshooting: Crashlytics reports and system logs aid us in identifying and rectifying technical issues to ensure smooth app performance.
Optional User Questionnaires:
Lazulite may occasionally show you optional questionnaires about your audio setup and listening experience. Answering is entirely up to you, and you can dismiss them whenever you want without any effect on the app. If you do respond, your answers (which may include free-text comments) are sent over a secure connection to a third-party survey service so we can understand how Lazulite performs on real devices and setups.
We only collect the answers you submit. Survey responses are completely anonymous: they carry no device identifiers, account info, or other personal data. We use them in aggregate for research and product improvements.
Data Sharing and Transfer:
We do not sell or trade your information. If you enable Crash diagnostics, Google Firebase Crashlytics receives and processes those diagnostics. See Google’s Privacy Policy for information about Google’s data practices. If you turn on the destination vendor lookup setting, MACLookup receives the partial MAC address needed to identify the vendor. You can check MACLookup’s own privacy practices for details on how it handles that data. If you answer an optional questionnaire, the survey service receives only the answers you submitted.
Data Protection:
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of the data we collect. While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Your Choice and Contact:
Crash diagnostics are optional. You can enable or withdraw them at any time in Lazulite under Settings → Crash diagnostics. Questionnaire participation is optional too, and you can skip it at any time. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at lazuliteapp@gmail.com.
Changes to This Privacy Policy:
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and we advise you to review this page periodically for any changes.
